I wanted to take a moment to congratulate SkyBridge Capital on its acquisition of the hedge fund business of Citigroup. Since they initially launched several years ago the guys at SkyBridge have executed well and turned what was a single hedge fund incubation fund into a fully fledged financial firm that is now the largest global hedge fund seeding firm with $5.6 billion AUM. My hat is off to Anthony Scaramucci and the team at SkyBridge to have taken advantage of the financial downturn and have stolen the successful hedge fund business from Citi. When the tide turns and things get frothy again, surely Citi will wish they hadn't done the deal. All roads for promising new hedge funds now must cross through SkyBridge!
